Anderson Service Coordination
Anderson Center for Autism offers Medicaid Service Coordination to our students and adults as well as to children and adults in the surrounding area, with autism spectrum disorders and other Developmental Disabilities. The main focus of this service is to provide linkage and referral services to individuals and their families on a long-term, on-going basis.
If a child or adult has interests and/or needs but you don’t know how to find appropriate services and programs, an Anderson MSC is your best advocate. Not only will your Anderson MSC provide the basic linkage and referral service to the child or your family, but he/she will also attend school district meetings as an additional advocate and resource to you and your child, backed with the expertise gained through training on New York State Special Education Regulations as well as through experience working with many districts throughout this region. An Anderson MSC will be a valued addition to the advocates and team members working with adult consumers by maintaining high quality Individualized Service Plans, coordinating all team members in a goal-oriented plan which ensures best service for the individual and offering long-term consistent quality of care and experience to the individual and their family.
Additionally, Anderson MSCs are very familiar with the process of assisting families with setting up Medicaid benefits and with working within New York State’s guidelines for obtaining other benefits for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Where many other agencies offering Medicaid Service Coordination won’t begin to work with you until you have set Medicaid up yourself (often a trying experience), your Anderson MSC will work with you from start to finish – offering appropriate contact names and telephone numbers as well as necessary paperwork and assistance in getting started. And, from assistance in finding a new doctor when an adult’s current one is retiring to dealing with other Medicaid related issues affecting Anderson Center adults, service coordination assistance continues throughout adulthood.
